| GET IT STRAIGHT: LÉPINE NY SMOOTHES THE KINKS OUT OF RELAXING TREATMENTS
Lépine NY’s “Get it Straight” Relaxing Treatment |

July, 2003 -- Let’s be flat-out honest…frizz is unfashionable. So if you’re looking to tame your unmanageable mane, Lépine NY’s “Get it Straight” Relaxing Treatment smoothes the kink out without damaging your hair.
This protein packed treatment coats the hair shaft, adding sheen and a silky texture to the hair. As hair grows out, new hair actually adds volume, and the weight of the treated hair allows it to lie flat. “From ultra-curly locks to those little frizzies that won’t lie flat, our treatment works on every hair texture,” says Kim Lépine, Creative Director of Lépine NY. “The trick is to get control of the hair line frizzies.”
After a “hair check up,” which assesses your hair’s history including structure, damage, allergy and past treatments, clients are treated to a shampoo and scalp massage to stimulate the hair follicles. Afterwards, a pampering prep for the “Get it Straight” treatment includes a Keratin protein pack and protective oil scalp massage. An application of protective cream on damaged or previously straightened hair is the last prep step.
Beginning with sections of hair one inch away from the scalp, the “Get it Straight” solution is applied. The hair is checked every ten minutes, and depending on the length is left on for 20-30 minutes. An interim rinsing, deep conditioner and cool rinse follow.
After the hair is dried 80%, a neutralizer is applied to seal the hair shaft, followed by a deep conditioner and rinse. Then the hair is finished with an expert blow dry to ensure luxurious, lustrous hair.
“Our only warning is that you don’t shampoo or use any hair accessories after 24 hours,” says Kim Lépine. “The first 24 hours are critical, and you don’t want to cause any kinks that you won’t be able to remove after.” If you color your hair, a single process can be done after 2 weeks, highlighting after 4.
Lépine NY’s “Get it Straight” relaxing treatment starts at $400.00.
